A Modern Quilt
Modern quilting is a fresh approach, reflecting each quilter’s personality and personal style. The quilt should embrace functionality, simplicity, and minimalism, use asymmetric designs and reinterpret traditional blocks and patterns, which are often inspired by modern art and architecture.

An item featuring hand embroidery - worked in a class or from a kit.
An item featuring hand embroidery - a beginners piece.
Advanced Embroiderers - having won significant prizes at previous shows.
These categories can include any quilted or ebmbroidered items, made for functional home use or for decoration, including but not limited to cushions, hand and shoulder bags, etc.
Textile Art (a home décor or accessory item)
Handwork / Hand Embroidery (a home decor or accessory item)
Machine Quilting & Patchwork (a home décor or accessory)
A Garment constructed by a Child.
An accessory constructed by a Child - e.g. bag, hat, etc.

First and Second prize will be awarded in each of the above categories, if four (4) or more entries are received

All Quilts that are entered for judging are eligible to be judged for this category. Visitors to the Exhibition will be invited to vote for their favourite quilt displayed in the Extravaganza. Prizes are allocated to the quilt receiving the most votes from the viewing public
All Embroidery and Home Décor items that are entered for judging
are eligible for this category. Visitors to the Exhibition will
be invited to vote for their favourite Embroidered or Home Décor
piece displayed in the Extravaganza.
Prizes are allocated to the Embroidery or Home Décor piece receiving the most votes from the viewing public.
